Ride Nickname:
66SHARK
Make:
Chevrolet
Model:
Corvette
Year:
1966
Introduction / Overview:
This 66' Corvette was an original 'Tuxedo Black' (rarest color) big block 427/425hp, 4-spd. factory sidepipes, four wheel power disc brakes, power windows car. The car was customized with flared fenders, and 'Mako Shark' rear end 30 yrs. ago. I bought this car 5 yrs. ago at a very reasonable price, and do drive it hard, and take it to a few car shows every now and then. This is a one of a kind Corvette, and plan on keeping this baby for a long time!
Drivetrain:
The engine is NOM but it does have a 66' 427 block. I had the M-21 upgraded to an M-22 "Rock Crusher". The engine was rebuilt to a lower compression to run on high octane pump gas, 460hp/500 torque on the dyno.
Chassis:
Original chassis
Wheels:
Centerline wheels, and BF Goodrich T/A's.
Body:
The custom body work, and paint are 30 yrs. old and still look great! The hood vents, and emblems were 24K Gold plated. The drive shaft, and suspension are chrome plated. The 63' grill was gold anodized, the side pipes gold powder coated, and the chrome trim was satin black powder coated as well.
Interioir:
The black interior looks like new. The steering column was chromed.
