Ride Nickname:
Comfortably Numb
Make:
Chevrolet
Model:
Chevelle
Year:
1964
Introduction / Overview:
When I got this car, it had already been back halfed, albeit badly. The wheelbase was different from left to right, the four link bars were too short, and the shock mounts were f'ed up. It had a 10 bolt rear in it that was too narrow, the tires rubbed the tub screws. The main frame rails were not completely welded to the Chevelle frame, etc, etc, etc. Look carefully at the pictures and you can easily see the progress we have made in the past year, although the car was in storage for about 6 mos.

The assembly has been balance. Heads are Merlin cast iron units with 2.25" intake valves and 1.88" exhaust. Crane stud girdle with Crane roller rocker arms. Intake is a an older Edelbrock Performer with a Holley 800 carb. Hooker headers are used, with Purple Hornies mufflers. Tranz is a built 700r4 with 2000 stall Vette converter.
Chassis:
Rear suspension is a four link with coil over shocks with a Dana 60 Posi rear with 4:11 gear. Front suspension is stock but with all Energy Suspension bushings and Monroe shocks with stock torsion bar.

Body:
Body is stock in configuration, for now, currently with three different shades of red on it, but it won't stay that way.
