"62 Red Hot Special" 1962 Buick Special Deluxe
Introduction / Overview: I saw a 1962 Buick Special converible at the DFW Good Guys event in 2007. It really wowed me and I decided I had to have one. Much less expensive to buy and something very unique out on the street!
Drivetrain: The original aluminum 215 CI V-8 has been overhauled and balanced. Added an Edlebrock intake, Holley 650 and Offy finned aluminum valve covers. Trans is a 200R4 via a D&D Machine adaptor. The rest of the driveline is stock.
Chassis: All of the chassis was stripped down, power-coated and rebuilt.
Wheels and Tires: Running the wires that I got with the car, but will be adding Billet Specialties Legacy II gray-centered rims at 18x6 in front and 18x7 in the rear and low profile tires.
Body & Paint: Paint is new and the factory red. The convertible top will be redone in a gray to match the wheel centers.
Interioir:
New front floor board and larger tunnel to accomodate the 200R4 tranny. Dodge Dakota bucket seats. Still undecided on whether to add a console .
I cleared off the firewall and will add a Vintage Air Ac unit behind the dash.
