"Emma Jean B" 1949 Ford Coupe
Introduction / Overview: I adopted / rescued Emma Jean from a museum in the midwest, in 2009. Originally an Illinois car and has but 89,ooo miles on the chassis.
Drivetrain: 1950 Mercury Flathead V8 with a .o3o oversize bore. New pistons/rings and I ported and relieved the balancing done at the machine shop.
Chassis: Original Ford chassis and suspension.
Wheels and Tires: Wheels are 15" but now have Goodyear Integra radials and port-a-wall wide white sidewalls and 4 bar "crossover" style full covers on front and 55 Fairlane full covers under the fender skirts at rear wheels.
Body & Paint: I hand sanded to bare metal after literally PEELING off the paint job with a razor blade. Her paint was so poorly preped before I bought it that her paint nearly "fell off", with little effort. Paint is single stage urethane right now but I plan on doing the same color, in base/clear in near future.
Interioir:
Bought Emma Jean with original seats covered in wihit "roll and pleated" vinyl.
I'm now installing an entire interior from a 1966 Thunderbird. Interior will have just about everything inside be from the T'bird - even the dash and swing-away steering column and wheel
