"Black Beauty" 1953 Chevrolet Bel Air
Introduction / Overview:
1953 Chevy BelAir 2 door sedan. Former show car with rare aftermarket Rajo racing head on a 6 cylinder GMC engine. Found and removed from long term storage in 2007, revamped over that winter to current low rider stance and style.
Drivetrain: 1946 216ci GMC 6 cylinder with rare Rajo (Racing Joe of Model T fame) aftermarket racing head and two part intake with 3 carbs. Block finished in custom House of Kolors Candy Apple Red Candy paint. Stock 3 speed transmission and rear end.
Chassis: Stock frame, lowered 4" in rear with air shocks and custom springs.
Wheels and Tires: Stock rims with Rothrageous red flake over red base. BF Goodrich wide white radials from Coker.
Body & Paint: 35 coats of black lacquer applied 30 years ago with heavy red pinstriping and every chrome accessory known to man! '54 Chevy tail light surrounds with Lee lenses.
Interioir: Custom interior- white with black inserts, button and tufted diamonds.
