"Mellow Yellow"     1957 Chevrolet 150

Introduction / Overview:

This is a mostly orginal parts 1957 150 Business Sedan. Restoration finished in Aug 2007 just in time for its 50th birthday.  Fun car to drive. First cruise was to Detroit MI for the BIG 50th aniversary party in Warren at the GM Tech Center. Fine turn out with 237    57 Chevy's showed up for the event.  She ran great!

Drivetrain:

75 Vette SBC with a mild cam stock heads fueled through a Edlebrok 600 carb blowing out through Headman Headers into a 2.5 in Flow Master exhaust system made for a 1957 sedan.  Stopping power is done with 4-wheel disc brakes hooking up to 16 in American Racing rims with Toyo tires. Tinted glass all around helps keep the glare out of your eyes while you're shifting the Tremec TKO 550 Five speed manual tranny. Cornering is  done by a Ididit chrome tilt column connected to a rack and pinion system with a Zoops Chopper 14 in wheel guiding the way. The whole ride is lowered 2 in front and rear.

Chassis:

Stock except for the shorter coil and leaf springs,

Yeap stock rear end. It's a 3:53 and is holding up so far.

Stock A-arms, rubber bushings

Wheels and Tires:

American Racing 16" Nito's 16x8

Toyo FZ4 Proxeys

Body & Paint:

Done a great guy at Dan's Auto World on Cave Creek rd. AZ

Body was a great starter and needed little patch work (hadn't been on the road since 1975)

Sanded primed painted base coat clear coat two tone Lightening Yellow and Ivory in a Bel Air style. Underneath too.

Frame painted POR15 parts too including the block in yellow.

Interioir: Interior we got over the WWW and it was installed by us. Fit was real good and it's leather in a Bisque (Off-white if you ask me) color with a matching head liner and custom door panels with a trunk kit also.
