"The wagon" 1960 Mercury Comet
Introduction / Overview: 1960 Comet 2dr wagon. Kinda rare, they tell me. I was going for a mid '60s mild custom look, like what you might see at a car show around 1965.
Drivetrain: 289/C4, '63 Sprint 8" rear end.
Chassis: V8 front suspension, '65 Falcon V8 steering, Granada disc brakes, beefy front and rear stabilizer bars, nuts, bolts, brackets, gadgets, and widgets.
Wheels and Tires: Astro Supremes mounting '03 Merc Marauder center caps, 520-14 Lowrider series bias ply Sportway tires.
Body & Paint: Pure black, Viper silver roof with flake added.
Interioir: Custom pattern with V motif in backrests, black and white vinyl with silver piping, uplevel trim and armrests added from later year cars. Wanted an upscale early '60s look, not too fancy but not plain either.
