"VW powered Sand rail"     2007 Volkswagon Beetle

Introduction / Overview: Here is my first build of a sand car. I picked it up in rough condition out of my uncles back yard and reconstructed it into the picture you see. It was a great project lots of friends were around to help with the build and we have all had a great time with it out in the dunes.
Drivetrain:

This little guy has had a couple diffrent engines in it everything from a stock 1600cc, turbo preped 1776 and an 1835. all of them have been in front of a built type 1 transaxle.

Chassis:

The frame started out as a chenworth and has been customized my me and a friend to have air ride in the rear to help out the landings.

Wheels and Tires: sand tires Paddles in the rear and razor backs in the front
Body & Paint: painted Madori Sour green with purple accents  
Interioir:

Modified Recaro racing seats
