"The Phoenix"     1963 Volkswagon Beetle

Introduction / Overview:

Found on Craigslist for sale asking $1500.00, this car was given to me by a nice lady who was losing her house in Bailey, Co. It had been sitting for about 8 years, and needs some help. Used and abused, painted 4 times, and loved by her family since '65.

Drivetrain:

1915 cc with Engle 110 cam, stroker crank, dual port heads with port-matched manifolds and solid rocker shafts. Dual weber 44 IDF's, lightened flywheel, stock heater boxes retained with Empi exhaust. Stock '63 transaxle (for now).

Chassis:

Stock '63 pan with NO rust. CB dropped spindles, KYB shocks, heavy-duty sway bar, '67 dual master cylinder, urethane trans mounts.

Wheels and Tires:

Old chrome Porsche 15 x 4 1/2 front, 15 x 5 1/2 rear. 145/15 front, 205/70 rear tires.

Body & Paint:

This car has NO rust, but I had to clip both the front and rear from previous damage. Original Anthracite grey, and will be finished in this color. No custom body mods, it will be factory stock with all stock trim. I am the painter.

Interioir: Will be in original VW style, but done in genuine leather with square-weave carpet and original floor mats. I am the upholsterer.
