"The Back Burner" 1964 Volkswagon Beetle
Introduction / Overview:
I have had this thing for a LONG time now. Someday I'll get to it.
Drivetrain:
started with a 40 horse. Now has big bore 83mm P&L's, counterweighted crank, Orig EMPI cam, dual port 40 horse heads with bigger valves and a port and polish job. Treuhaft deep sump, valve covers, and dizzy. 6v 200mm lightened flywheel, Sig Erson rockers and pushrods. Dual Solex 40p11 carbs with parabolics stacks sitting on big logo EMPI manifolds. EMPI 4 bolt extractor with the chrome EMPI glasspack.
Chassis: 5 inch narrowed beam, and drop spindles in front. Rear turned down 2 clicks. Porsche 356 B brakes front and rear with polished drums that are drilled for wide 5 VW and small Porsche 5.
Wheels and Tires:
Original EMPI 2 peice 5 spokes. Chrome faces with powdercoated barrels. All 4 plus a spare, and 1 extra.
Body & Paint: None yet. Probably black. Maybe a Jag green Everything all stock outside with minor accessories. NOS vent splitters, bumper guards. RHD headlight glass.
Interioir: converted to right hand drive using a dash and pedal cluster from Australia.Stock style seats and door panels for early vw . Early rubber floor mats. Full EMPI guage package. Big button EMPI wheel, EMPI eiliminator shifter, EMPI grab handles. GHE vent trims. EMPI AM radio.
