"Barbecued Stove Bolt"     1951 My Ride is Me

Introduction / Overview:

I just discovered and acquired this custom built 1946 - 1951 by E.C. and Jim Hall of Vallejo California. Featured in May 53 issue of HONK it apparently won an award '52 Oakland Roadster Show, and a 1951 Cal Neva event. Does anyone remember this car and can tell me more?

Drivetrain:

1928 Chev block, 1934 Ford 'C' crank, 1930 Olds head, 1936 Pontiac Rods, 1938 Nash rockers, 1924 Dodge waterpump, Buda industrial diesel valves, SU carbs, airplane motor timing case with magneto, custom dry-sump oil system. Transmission comprised Nash, Studebaker & Jeep parts, 1946 Chev clutch

Chassis:

Chassis is 1927 Chev with 1937   Chev brakes

Wheels and Tires:

Appear to me to be 1937 Chev

Body & Paint:

Started life as a 1921 Dodge Touring, cut down to roadster cab size, custom woooden pickup body built

Interioir:

All original as constructed in 1951. Also still have original top and side curtains.

Lifestyles: Old-School
