"Hooptie77 " 1977 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
Introduction / Overview:
Was my Grandmother's car. Now it's mine. Needs some love, and will be built for cross country driving like she and I used to do it in it when I was a kid.
Drivetrain: 350 smogger, 350 turbo trans (with TCI kit and floor shift), stock rear end. AC, Power
Chassis: Will be lowered - looking into bags / dropped spindles and rear springs
Wheels and Tires: Was going to be rallys, but selling them to fund some American racing salt flat specials - want to paint the centers a dark magnesium color. Not sure about size, but probably 15" with big fat rubber late 70s early 80s style.
Body & Paint:
Stock tan with landau top (top vinyl is going bye bye). May paint it two tone, may not.
Interioir: Worn stock saddle tan. Dreaming of rough tan/brown leather with a suede headliner. Lemans style wheel in black, looking for the right tach (camaro?) to fit into stock dash where the economy gauge currently sits. Ipod hookup to ok system - good enough for some springsteen, leonard cohen, and tom waits is good enough for me.
