"Dorothy"     1962 Mercury Comet

Introduction / Overview:

My name is Trisha Turner. I am a hotrodder at heart and a Pinup model and Pinstriper for fun. My biggest influence for my pinstriping is Ed "big daddy" Roth.

I have had my 1962 Mercury Comet 4dr "Dorothy" since 1998. She's my first car, daily driver and the love of my life. We've been through alot together. Most people ask me if she's ever going to get a paint job, and I reply she already is painted!!!

Oh, and Dorothy's not a rat rod, she's a hot rod (there is a difference). Just because she's painted satin black and has a red metal flake roof, does not make her a rat rod. If I have to explain what the difference is, then you will never understand.

Drivetrain:

Ford V-8 302 bored .30 over. GT-40 heads, Lunati 351W cam, Edelbrock Air-gap intake, 9.5:1 compression. Can't fit headers yet, so I just have hi-pro exhaust manifolds. C-4 automatic tranny and a 8.8-inch rear end.

Chassis: Stock front and rear springs. Front disc brake conversion...rear drums
Wheels and Tires:

Stock 14" OE steel rims Powder coated red. Spider hub caps to top them off.

Body & Paint:

Body work and paint all done by my husband and myself (and a few friends too).

Body paint: SEM "Hot Rod Black" satin

Roof paint: Corvette red base w/red metal flake and clear coat

Pinstriping on trunk: done by me. Fire red and Ivory One-shot
