"Diamond in the rough" 1938 My Ride is Me
Introduction / Overview: This is my 1938 Diamond T. It started life as a series 509s semi tractor. Now it is chopped 3" and riveted back together.
Drivetrain: Its powered by a Chevy 235 inline 6 with custom Solex side draft carbs and dual exhaust. The trans is 3 speed manual which leads to an old Frankland converted quick change truck rear end.
Chassis: The cab sits on a 1947 Ford car frame that has been slightly modified and powdercoated gloss black. Friction shocks keep it on the road. An F-100 steering box helps with the turning.
Wheels and Tires: The wheels are the Ford wide 5 pattern and have been powdercoated gloss black. The tires are Firestone gum dipped 4.75-16s in the front and 7.00-16s in the rear. They have Port-o-walls for style.
Body & Paint: Patina, rust, and rivets.
Interioir: Some old mexican blankets over the bench seat.
