"The Full TUB Monte" 1978 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
Introduction / Overview: Older customization. Supposedly built in Iowa, went to Chicago, then to Cinci. and now to Cleveland Ohio. I just swapped a Harley for her, as I get to know her I'll update on her personality.
Drivetrain:
396+ .030, previous owner says balenced/blueprinted 600 horse. 4bolt, steel crowwer crank/H beam rods, speed pro forged slugs, all crower cam/valve train, victor Jr, modded 880 holley double pumper, 7AL2 msd, Hooker super comp.s, 3" all the way back with fairly quiet "turbo" muffs. It runs real well, very quick reving, awesome 1k rpm idle. TH350, B&M crate trans with some upgrades, full manual valve body, 4k converter. 31 spline, 4.56 geared, spooled 9" ford rear.
Chassis: Back halved car. Full tub, 4 link. alston chassis, 8 point roll bar. all steel floor ann welded (no rattley snap in stuff)
Wheels and Tires: Weld draglites & stickey Mickey's
Body & Paint: IROC Teal green with blacked out trim. mopar 6 pack bolt on scoop. lots of nicks, scratches, dings. As per the wife's wishes it will be red (maybe candy apple over fine gold flake?) and sport a 4" cowl hood eventually. steel hinged hood. Glass lift off deck lid.
Interioir: black and gray. racing buckets that will soon be swapped out for a 60/40 split bench (that's "fat man friendly") door bars of the 8pt bar will be hinged with swing outs. 1 off door pannels and head liner. Full dynamatted floor full carpet. Fully finished trunk. Tiny 8gal fuel cell that will be swapped out for a larger one soon.
