"Little" 1948 Chevrolet C-10
Introduction / Overview:
As far as the truck goes I first bought it as a 75.00 beater in 1973 and four months later drove it the Tulsa street rod nationals as a painted and upholstered rod. It has morphed through a lot of changes and engines and transmissions and is in the process of getting redone completely from the bare frame up for I hope the last time that I do it.
I'm a long time hotrod and custom car and truck nut. I tend to favor the traditional builds and looks in my cars but like them shiny and finished.
My background is that of former mechanic (specialized in front end work) High school auto shop teacher, Parts counter man and too many other things to mention. As far as the truck goes I first bought it as a 75.00 beater in 1973 and four months later drove it the Tulsa street rod nationals as a painted and upholstered rod. Drivetrain: The 48's drivetrain next time around is 78 292 with some goodies on it, 4 or 5 speed and a disk brake 10 bolt posi in the back
Chassis: Aftermarket MII up front with stock A arms and struts (I'm low budget) and leaf in the rear. Very low static height with no bags or other lifts.
Wheels and Tires: Right now some old Enkie 32's but steel wheels and hubcaps are in the works with wide whites.
Body & Paint: Chopped 4 inches, suicide doors (done in 1980) 120 louvers in the hood and frenched headlights. Many more mods in the works but it will still look like a 48 Chev 3100 at first glance with no guessing about it's beginnings.
Interioir: I'm starting over from scratch here and still don't have it figured out but it will stay along traditional hotrod/custom lines with attention given to driver and passenger comfort.
