"Billy Beer Lemon"     1979 Ford Fairmont

Introduction / Overview: My 1979 Ford Fairmont Futura 24 Hours of Lemons racecar.
Drivetrain:

200 straight six/C4 transmission

stock 1979 motor got a 3 angle valve job, milled .060" off the head, new rings & pistons in the stock size, new bearings in the bottom end, a 264 duration Clay Smith Cam, and a custom fitted 2bbl Rochester 2GC carburetor on the stock log manifold.

Estimates now put us at about 150hp at the crank

Chassis:

Stock Fox Mustang/Tbird junk yard parts

New Thunderbird Turbo Coupe springs with 1/2 coil cut off, boxed rear lower control arms, urathane bushings in the A arms, steering rack and rear lower control arm. Caster and camber added by cutting stock "onion head" strut mounts and remounting them on top of the strut towers in redrilled holes.

Wheels and Tires: Thunderbird Turbo Coupe 16" wheels with Dunlop Direzza Star Spec tires in a 225/50-16
Body & Paint: stock Ford light gray with hand pained vintage Billy Beer Nascar theme
Interioir:

None, just a Corbeau race seat & 5 point harness

Plus a full roll cage. Stock floor shifter and full instrumentation provided by Ford.
