"HEMI_29" 1929 Ford Model A
Introduction / Overview: This is my first complete car build. I started with a 1929 Ford Model A coupe body, and built it on a custom frame with a 4 inch front "Z" and a 7 inch rear "Z". The rear axle is a Ford full size wagon axle, the front is a 4" dropped straight axle, both are buggy sprung. I used a 1953 Chrysler 331 cid Hemi engine, backed with a 5 speed T5 transmission. The brakes are 1950 Ford F1 front drums, and rears are the drums that came with the axle. The gauges are 1955 Desoto, and have had the internals replaced with Autometer units.
Drivetrain: 1953 Chrysler 331 Hemi with rare 1954 "wet" 4bbl intake and carb. Sanderson "lakes style" headers, Wilcap flywheel, stock internals. Transmission is a T5 from a Chevrolet S10 pickup, driveshaft is custom made from a Mustang, and rear axle is a Ford 8.5" from a 1979 LTD wagon with Mustang 8.8 gears, and locker.
Chassis: Fabbed custom frame with 4 inch front kick up, and 7 inch rear kick up. Buggy spring from 1940 Ford rear, and reversed eye front buggy spring. Superbell 4 inch dropped front axle, hairpins, traditional steer reversed Corvair steering box, 1950 Ford F1 front drum brakes, Pete and Jakes rear ladder bars.
Wheels and Tires: 15 X 7" rear steel wheels, and 15 X4" fronts, running wide whitewall bias-ply tires and 1940 Ford Deluxe caps.
Body & Paint: No fill, all steel at this poine. top chopped 4", body chanelled 4", top filled with steel, full custom fabbed floor and rear bulkhead.
Interioir: 1932 Ford dash with 1955 Desoto gauges, chrome steering column, gold metalflake Superior wheel, ammo-box console, bomber seatbelts.
