I first found this pinup beauty in a set of pictures from my friend and professional photographer Justice Howard. Justice shot some pics of Frenchy La Femme getting pinstriped on her chest. The picture is steaming hot, no doubt about it. Those pics are shown in the Pinup Pinstriping post. I contacted Frenchy through her myspace page to be December's Pinup of the Month. This photo was taken by a friend! His name is Chris and he's a self taught dude with a good eye. He's also a car builder. Frenchy tells me he's,"a unique individual with style in the custom culture car scene." I wonder if that's his car? So does Frenchy like cars? "Hot rods, lead sleds, ranfflas, rat rods whatever you call your ride- I love them all. My dream car would be a ’49 Chevy pick up truck- Pink satin with a white pearl flake top- very frenchy- I know…a Desoto front end grill and Packard headlights! Any fella out there who is willing to make any suggestion please send me little message." What'd you think when you were getting your chest pinstriped? He's kinda...
Sick Seconds – Fastest Street Car in America Build

After accomplishing a major record in Hot Rod Magazine's Drag Week 2007, ProRides (www.goprorides.com) is about to embark on a new level of performance never seen before. Not only did ProRides head to Drag Week with the intention of beating the old record (think mid-low 8 second 1/4 mile times!), but to finish the event, driving 1,000 miles while pulling a trailer. While the bets were being placed that the clean black Camaro wouldn't even finish the week, the car shook the hot rod and race world by posting a first pass E.T. of 7.64. Truly the pass heard 'round the world! Granted, the ProRides team was as surprised as anyone, and the venture served to underscore the positive results that come from combining great companies and partnerships with a thorough process. So many have asked "what is next?" After talking to Rob Kinnan of Hot Rod Magazine at this years Drag Week, the ProRides crew had the idea of building a 6-second ET capable car to drive the grueling 1,000 mile Drag Week course. Imagine.... a 6 second ET vehicle driving 200-300 miles per day while pulling a...

30 Tips for Pinup Models

Pinup Tips for a successful photo shoot. Printed with permission from Varga Photography. You can also catch him at his Myspace page: Roy Varga's Myspace. It’s all in the face... I don't care if you’re flat as a wall or have curves for days if you’re good at making faces that’s all that matters... Props make a huge difference...in all pinup pics the main focus is the gal of course...but sooner or later you will run out of poses... that's where props make a world of difference... plus they are fun and you can play make believe. Always have a backup plan I don't care if it’s a backup outfit or a backup location you always have to be ready... ha-ha one time a gal showed up in what she was wearing and 1 other outfit that didn't match... yeah those are the rough ones. When it comes to hair and makeup leave it to the professionals... I mean personally I don't know jack about hair and makeup. I just tell my gal to make'm pretty... but in my experience if your gonna go all out and make the...
Bonnie gets an Interior! Choose which one!
posted by pikesan
I've written before that the new friends I've made after starting MyRideisMe.com are so much better then the friends I used to have. Wait, no... I mean... I've met some great people. One of those outstanding new friends is Jimmy Smith from Jimmy's Hot Rod Design. I called Jimmy to see if he could give some advice for the interior of my 1927 Ford Modified, "Bonnie". I've owned the car for (god has it been that long?!) over 7 years and I've never put an interior in. I've got buy with a foam pad and recently a crappy seat I made myself. I've also had to put up with the, "You gonna put an interior in that thing?" questions. Well yea, finally I am. That's where you come in. When I asked Jimmy for advice, I was hoping for reference pics or maybe some color ideas or even a magazine or two to check out. Jimmy's another guy who routinely flushes more hot rod history and knowledge then most folks, probably including me. That's why he does work for several well known hot rod shops like Squeeg's...
Car Drawings or Photos? You choose.

Drawing of a Car That Looks Like a Photo I've been pleasantly surprised by the European hot rodders that have made their way to MyRideisMe.com. This story is about a new member, Alan Brightmore from Manchester, United Kingdom. His member name is Slammed56 cause he's added an in the weeds 56 Volkswagon Panel Bus. Not long after joining, I found out Alan's quite an artist, or is he a photographer? Look closely at the image to the left. Is that a picture? No. It's an amazingly realistic looking pencil drawing! What follows was written by Alan about his work. Please say hello in Alan's Garage and add him to your crew. Ok, brief history first of all and you could say I got into the artwork 'seriously' kinda by accident. Having always had a natural talent for drawing from an early age (left school at age 16 with a grade A in art/photography) I just drew for fun really and never even entertained the idea that I could actually sell some of my work. Well, years went by and the artwork eventually became secondplace to 'real' jobs and spare...
World’s First: 3D custom car illustration
posted by pikesan
You saw it here first. My man Brian Stupski from Problem Child Kustoms took an already slick illustration of a slammed down 1953 Ford and went 3D! Three Dimensions! Click on the image to make it full size, then pull out your red and blue 3D glasses and have a look. Too cool and perfect timing for October spooky-ness. I keep waiting for Frankenstein (no, not my ex-wife) or the Wolfman to jump out from behind a tree. Brian told me he's working on another 3D image to go with this one. It's one thing to spin out the slick and highly detailed hot rod designs, but breaking the mold like this is truly something to watch for. Keep tabs on PCK Studio and his innovative style at...
Dayna Delux – October Pinup of the Month
posted by pikesan
For some reason, the "Pinup of the Month" feature here at MyRideisMe.com has been very popular! We only feature beautiful pinup models posed next to the hottest hot rods and custom cars. Enjoy October's Hot Rod pinup: Dayna Delux. A keen eye will notice Dayna featured on the home page riding a broom (by Mehosh studios). I first noticed her on the cover of the December 2007 Sport Truck Magazine. Her subtle but sexy red hair and dazzling blue eyes drew me right in. You can see her in tons of magazines now as one of the top pinup models going. She's on 10 covers now including: Barracuda, CK Deluxe, Sport Truck, Rockabilly (2 times), Hot Rod Deluxe, Ace Magazine, College Times, Cheers, Auto Art. Starting off doing a shoot for a friend doing makeup, she then worked for that photographer and then another. Pretty soon, Dayna found herself in demand and traveling for shoots. She says, "We always have a good time. I'm a goof and like making people laugh but I remain professional." This super hot photo was taken by Shannon Brooke Imagery for Pinup Girl Clothing....
PCK’s Shine-Runner – Dream Car in Rod & Custom
posted by pikesan
Friends sometimes make it easy on ya. Here's one of those times. Dig this hot rod art from Brian Stupski, my buddy from G-town (Gilbert, Arizona, but it's really not that hip). I've said before that making new friends in the hot rod and custom world is one of the coolest parts of making and running MyRideisMe.com. Brian from Problem Child Kustoms Studio is tops on the cool list of new friends. Never mind that Brian's crapped out more knowledge about cars, especially historically significant hot rods and customs, then I have to this day, but on top of that, the man's got skills! Skill in design. You don't simply get a "pretty picture" you get a design, the whole DESIGN! Want to know the part number of the Air Ride setup you'll need? He's got it. Want to know the offset of those new 18's and 19's you'll be running? He knows. That's the detail you get when hooking up with a professional designer. So check out the December 2008 issue of Rod and Custom, page 8-9. That's Brian's Shine-Runner 500. That came out of his head and...
Over My Shoulder… Making Hot Rod Art
posted by pikesan
Please enjoy your brief, but meaningful and entertaining, look "over the shoulder" of painter Tom Fritz as he makes what I think is my favorite piece of Hot Rod Art to date (and he's got alot to like!). Over My Shoulder... Making Hot Rod Art Written By Tom Fritz (Car and Motorcycle fine art) One of the side benefits of working at my art is that I’ve been blessed with the development of an extended family of very close friends, a rich variety of both men and women who support me in my self-inflicted torture. And as sit here in front of yet another blank canvas trying to figure out the combination of what I am and what the world needs, I’m reminded of all the conversations in which I’ve been asked, how hard is it to make my art, or how long it takes me to make it — in which they try to get a handle on how I put a painting together. "...lets face it – starving can become a nuisance. ." These questions invariably come up at shows and in order to portray the illusion...
