Straight from Dallas Texas, I bring you Hellkitten. This curvaceous pin up boasts some super hot pinstriping - on her body. Hellkitten is not just another pretty face in the crowd. She proudly owns and operates her own online clothing store HellkittenOriginals.com She showcases her work with amazing photos and you can really see how her love for cars inspired her style and the details of her webstore. Hellkitten has told me in our interview below how her affection for cars began, and why she loves them so much. All though she's a clothing designer and looks hot in latex and heels, there is a much 'tougher' side to Hellkitten. She's a a representative for Pinups for Pittbulls, the organization that strives to set the record straight on Pittbulls and the bad rap they have picked up over the years, (by using some great imagery of sexy pin up girls and their prized pooches, you can order the calendar here.) It's no doubt these dogs are tough, but the tough part about that job is getting the point across. I truly admire anyone who goes out of there way...

Is This Cool? – iPhone Controllable Color Led Light Strip
posted by Aubrey London
Custom Car LED's -Please don't do it! It’s bright pretty colors. It uses an iPhone as a control interface. You can program colors and presets. It may be cool in another setting, but is it cool in your car? MEA Mobile’s new lighting kit, iGloLEDset is being marketed to the custom car market. According to their promo text “Users can wave their phones in the air and control a 16 to 50 foot strip of 120 to 360 lights,” but when you wave out your car window, you want people to wave back, not raise their hands to block their eyes. What it is: The kit comes with a 16.4’ strip with 120 full color lights, a Wi-Fi controller unit, and a power supply which can be plugged into an optional inverter. You can also order additional strips which can be chained together. What it does: You can segment the strip into eight sections, control the lights in real time using the accelerometer or your finger, program presets, control the speed, create solid colors or patterns and pause the patterns. I caught up with Bruce Seymour from MEA Mobile...
Cara Mia – Sweet or Spicy Tattooed Pin Up
posted by Aubrey London
Hot Rod Pinup Cara Mia Cara Mia's a tattooed Hot Rod and Pin Up model, hailing from Oregon. She says she likes to add a lot of versatility to her modeling and has a lot of different interests. She has a large modeling portfolio, and I'd venture to say that with her killer looks, it'll be getting a lot bigger. She has a bad girl look, with ink on most areas of her body, but don't let that fool you... Cara has a sweet side, and she's not afraid to tell us she likes to curl up with her man and puppy, watch movies and knit scarves. Whether you like her for her spicy side, or sweet, her pictures are sure to please. STATS Hometown: Portland Oregon. Age: 23 years strong. Measurements: 34-27-36 Height: 5'8 Favorite band: Carrion Spring: www.myspace.com/CarrionSpring Movie: Spirited Away. Empire Records. Drop Dead Fred. The Toxic Avenger. Car: I'm a sucker for a gasser, but my all time favorite would be a Chevy Nomad. We can make our best guess by the looks of you (you're hot) but, tell us how you got your start...
February Pin Up of the Month – Gia Genevieve
posted by Aubrey London
Hot Rod Pinup Gia Genevieve This smokin' hot redhead made her way onto the scene in 2009 at VLV 12. She was noticed by a photographer and was put into the running right away to grace the cover of Ol' Skool Rodz magazine where you might remember seeing her. Gia's career has blossomed since then, winning the title of Ink and Iron Queen, and showing us what she does best on the cover of Retro Lovely Magazine issue 3. I had the pleasure of getting to know Gia a little bit better when I interviewed her last year, and I'm happy to be able to work with her again, and bring her to you here on MyRideisMe. She is a sexy, curvaceous, sultry, red hot girl with hair to match. I look forward to a lot more wonderful photos from Gia, and seeing her around the Pin Up and Hot Rod scene for a while. Shout out to Pin Up photographer Roy Varga for these stunning shots of Gia, and for the great work he does in the pin up and hot rod community. Anyone into the Pin Up lifestyle,...
From Photo to a Watercolor Painting -It’s Car art
posted by pikesan
Hot Rod Art It started as an email to MyRideisMe.com to see if I would grant permission for an artist to use a photo he found. Thanks to artists Paul And Kimberly Buford for doing the right thing! Turns out, it wasn't my photo, it was taken at Viva Las Vegas by Paul "Swanee" Swanson. Turns out, this is a popular photo: Cars like this Chevy fit right in at Viva and original "Patina" has never been more popular. So I asked Paul some questions about his artwork. Keep in mind, about all I know about artwork and painting is what I like... Why watercolors? - I've worked in several different media, and always come back to watercolors. The idea that you are staining the paper is what I love, and the way the colors mix together either in the palette or on the paper. Why this image (and others similar)? - I have always been drawn to decayed or decaying items (whether it be old buildings, collapsed barns, or abandoned/aged cars). The more I studied them and thought about what it was I got from them the more...
Doris Mayday – Pinup Calendar Girl and Sex Therapist?
posted by Aubrey London
Hot Rod Pinup Ms. Doris Mayday Doris Mayday, a name well known in the Pinup Up community, has been considered a modern day Marilyn Monroe. Platinum blonde hair, ruby red lips, curves that kill, are just a few traits of this blonde bombshell hailing from Sin City itself, Las Vegas. With a resume longer than some pin ups will ever have, Doris is super accomplished at the age of just 21, and it's no wonder why... one look at her and you'll know why she is at the top of every one's favorite pin up list. Doris is a beauty and has the brains to back up those gorgeous looks. Not just a model, Doris loves to style her own shoots from floor to ceiling and spends a lot of her time scouring antique shops for priceless memorabilia of days gone by to use in her shoots. Doris is one of a kind, in a world full of Brunette Bettie's, this blonde siren stands out. Check her out in Mitzi&Co's 2011 Pin Up Calendar. Pick yours up on Mitzi&Co's site before they are all gone. I could ramble on all day...
Winter Wonderland – Snow Covered Rides in Montana
posted by GreaseGirl
Old Cars Take On New Life In The Winter Snow Snow, cold, and winter weather lock up many a classic car in the safety of a garage. Here in So Cal, we're lucky that our old cars get to hit the roads 365 days a year! During a recent trip up to Montana - since there were no old cars on the road - I grabbed my camera and went wondering to find some old beasts out in the snow. Although my inner "mom" wanted to tow these all to safety and restoration - I think the setting made for some cool pictures. So if you live in a snowy area - enjoy these and stand by until warmer weather. But if you live in a place like lovely Southern California - count your blessings and take your car for a cruise! May this New Year find you all in good and joyful adventures! Happy Trails, Grease Girl All that poor rust, but this 1953 Chevy's hood ornament is still in good shape! John Deere standing proud with tin can covering the exhaust and all. An old Ford logo...
Book Review: Hot Rod Magazine – All the Covers

HOT ROD Magazine: All the Covers Ever find yourself searching through a stack of old Hot Rod magazines at a swap meet? When ever I do, I'm pretty amazed at how you're able to tell the era of the magazine simply by the cover. Usually as I flip through them I catch myself thinking "late 70's, mid 80's, ahh here's an early 60's"... all from the information presented to me on the cover. Getting your vehicle featured on the cover of Hot Rod magazine has to be the ultimate reward for a builder. It's one thing to be lucky enough to receive a feature in the most influential automotive magazine of all time, but making the cover is simply iconic as you are now locked forever into the history of hot rodding. Imagine if you could some how capture all those amazing covers in one place, all 60+ years worth? Well your lucky day is here with the newly released book: HOT ROD Magazine: All the Covers by Drew Hardin along with the editors of HOT ROD. I simply love this book and I have shared it with several...

Hot Rod Pinup Mimi La Minkz This little Latina might be a petite Pin Up, but don't let that fool you! Her size may be small but her curves are just the right size. Mimi La Minkz busted into the scene a few years ago and has already made her rounds in the Pin Up and retro model scene. Just look at these amazing photos captured by none other than the talented Mitzi Valenzuela. For those of you lucky enough to make it out to the Ink and Iron car show this past Summer, you might remember this spicy gal placing second in the Pin Up contest after Gia Genevieve. Read more about her in my interview with Mimi below. She's also posting next to this Crazy Nitro-Cacklefest 31 Coupe here. First off, I think you're a hot little package that packs a big wallop. 2010 Goodguys Scottsdale Pictures – Golden Morning Sky
posted by pikesan
Best Pictures from 2010 Goodguys Southwest Nationals My new desktop picture! As I get older, the list of reasons for getting up EARLY in the morning oddly keeps getting longer... it used to be simply fishing. Next as Pops started to take me racing, I added, "going to a drag race" and then as I got more interested in cars, I added, "going to a swap meet." Now I've added, "taking pictures with morning sunshine." See the dude laying on the ground for this shot? That's me! I see alot of people cruising car shows taking pictures... some with gear much nicer than me, and quite a few using their cell phones. What are you doing with those pics? I wanted to cover cool shows like Goodguys Scottsdale with the best pictures I could, so I started watching guys like Paul "Swanee" Swanson take pics and trying to shoot like him. (here's a few of Swanee's 2010 Goodguys Pictures from this year) Then, I sought out some other pros and got some tips on Shooting Good Car Pictures. I'm learning! Or maybe it's just the morning sky! Who cares!!...
