Hot Rod Designer Sets the Look of Dune Buggy-love! I don't normally post cars for sale, but Jimmy's a good friend and GREAT hot rod designer. So... when he tried his hand at a dune buggy (and pretty much set off a mini-dune-buggy craze here in Phoenix) I had to see it! It was at the Goodguys show first, the "FISHBONE" featuring custom paint and trick pinstriping to match. Want to know more about what's going on in the head of hot rod designer Jimmy Smith? Take a look at these stories featuring Jimmy's Designs Or, you can own his dune buggy! "I've always loved the whole, late 60's-early 70's California lifestyle thing. I was a child of that era, so things like skateboards, dune buggies and hot rods have been on my mind since pretty much day one! Of all the impractical types of cars out there, dune buggies rate right up there, thing is, while they may not be great for hauling groceries or going to business meetings with, what they do deliver are smiles. Climb into one, and the stupid grin starts right away....
1958 Chevy Apache – Brand New?
posted by pikesan
1958 Chevy Apache - 5 miles, never sold... Imagine this... The truck has just over 5 miles on the ODO! For some reason, the truck was never, ever sold. I think what that means, it was never even offered for sale thanks to a fluke that is the Lambrecht Chevy Auto Auction. Get some details on what's happening at the Lambrecht Chevy Auto Auction here. The details are, it's a 1958 Chevrolet Apache 31 Series 1/2 ton Pickup. As listed in the auction, the truck is NEW! OK, well, hard to say new, but it was purchased Ray Lambrecht for Lambrecht Chevrolet Company, but never sold. It's been run in the last year, so how bad can it be... the only thing really wrong with this orginal straight six, four speed on the floor truck is the bed wood needs replaced and the there's some rust here and there. I guess sitting outside, unprotected in Nebraska will do that after 55 years! Talk about a SURVIVOR! Want to own it? Get more details and you've got until 9/27 to buy it here: 1958 Chevy Apache ...
Salt Water Fish Racing at 2013 Bonneville Speed Week

World's Saltiest 1966 Barracuda! Normally when you see a car in impound, the crew attends the race car's mechanical needs, if any, then starts cleaning and removing the salt from the last run. Don'tcha wanna look your best? (going to impound's a good thing! Look here for Setting a Record at Bonneville) These are a couple cool-lighted morning shots of Robert (Bob) Dally's 1966 Barracuda on the way back to the starting line to backup their record run on Sunday morning. Bob landed in impound since they went 113 mph on a soft 100 mph F/CPRO record. On Monday, the record was set at 115 mph, then again on Tuesday at their top speed of Speed Week 2013: 132.85 mph. F-size engines are only up to 183 cu. in, so Bob's Barracuda wasn't running a Hemi, it was a little old slant 6. Salty Grille! Bob and his crew didn't spend much time cleaning, so it was an opportune time for me to grab some shots! As you could have guessed, some people complained about wet conditions out on the track and the 'Cuda certainly shows that. ...

Blown Caddy - Custom 1959 Cadillac Heard of Sic Chops out of Lake Havasu, Arizona? If you're a fan of custom cars, especially custom Cadillacs, then you should have! I met Scott Laitinen, owner and super cool dude at the Scottsdale Goodguys show where him and some pals were demonstrating how a new-build 1960 Caddy was only 8.5 Beer Cans Tall! Well, he's at it again! His latest creation is a 600 HP Cadillac LSA powered 1959 Cadillac sporting 2 inch chop off the convertible top. Not bad... HELL, this thing's Sic! Look closely and you'll see that there's a few finishing touches yet to finish... when I can grab the details and ask Scott about the owner and why, "My Ride is Me" I'll update this story. Until then, make sure to check out the SIC Chops homepage and to leave a comment below. Which Cad's cooler? This 1959 or hammered 1960's...

Here' s a link to the story called: Saab 92H & 92HK - The Caravans Of Love I'm a wagon fan, and a fan of the generally wacky. These fit right in! Like...
2013 LA Roadster Show – ACME 1953 Chevy Thriftmaster

Chevrolet Advance Design Series - Custom Hauler Another sweet ride for sale at the LA Roadster Show. (click to see pictures full size) If you haven't been around MyRideisMe.com much, I'll let you know, I usually don't feature cars for sale. I mean, if it's "My Ride is Me" then why you selling it? Also, I don't typically get into bikes. Like to look at them, love the way they sound... just not my bag. But... this old Chevy truck spoke to me! As part of the universal "ACME Services" this truck does it all. From Used Tires to Bail Bonds to Speed Equipment. I'm sorta guessing that this is a 1953 Chevy truck by the "Est 1953" on the door. The Chevrolet "Advance Design" series as they were called from 1947 until 1955 had some pretty small changes year to year. Did I get it right? Wing or vent windows in the door didnt' appear until 1951 and push-button door handles (like this truck has) didn't appear until 1952. 1953 showed a change to the hood lettering for 3100, 3600 and so on based on load...

Built to be Driven one off NASCAR Inspired Torino Talladega George Poteet's Rad Rides Built Talladega At any show there might be a ride you call out as your favorite with your buddies. Something, "not to miss!" I hear that... it's fun to pick a favorite, right? But then... every once in a while, there's a jaw dropping ride that grabs your attention and holds it for not just that afternoon, but for months. For me, with George Poteet's Rad Rides built Torino Talladega, I've been lusting over this car for almost a year. (Click any picture to see it full size) I saw pictures of the Talladega either online or in a magazine, but at the time, it wasn't killing me to see it. I knew Poteet's style of "ALL OUT" hot rods, and I knew with Troy Trepanier and his crew doing the work, it'd be built with beyond amazing details. Still, it wasn't until the 2012 Grand National Roadster Show debut, when I finally saw it first hand... in metal. Should an unfinished car shouldn't be your pick for "NOT TO MISS"?? ...
Concept Creation: Drawing Poteet’s Talladega

How do you draw the perfect car? All artwork by Brian Stupski at Problemchildkustoms.com How does he do it? An amazing car modified in ways to be described below, but then, in this drawing, it FLIES off the page. Love it! As a bonus to the 45 Pictures of Poteet's Radical Torino Talladega I shared, here's the drawing that inspired the car. Brian works closely with Rad Rides by Troy to detail the lines and final shape. Rad Rides then transform the art into real metal shapes. Poetry! So here's the details on what went on... followed by some other choice drawings by Problem Child Kustoms. (Click any picture to see it full size) Can you pick up on a few ideas that didn't make it to the final design? I found a couple! Well? What you think? How to draw the perfect hot rod? Let's ask Brian to put it on paper while asking George Poteet to dream up something...

And here's the rest of the pictures... I'm hoping for the same crazed reaction to these photos as the one we saw after posting Dino's truck on Facebook. You like? Here's what it started as! See more build pics including the custom fenders Want to see more of this AMAZING Custom C10? I spent quite a bit of time editing the pics I took. 1964 Chevy C10 Dually - Dino's Dually Build Here's what it started as! (Skip to see the Finished Truck! 29 Additional Photos) I'll let Dino tell the story of this build. When it's done, you'll agree, this is the baddest C10 Dually ever. "I found this truck on craiglist and watched it for a few months and finally pulled the trigger. After helping my friend dbomb on his short bed, it got me fiending for another project. This 1964 C10 dually work truck was a friend of mine's that he drove for 30 years in the appliance install biz. He sold it a few years back and it just resurfaced. My plans are to bag it with a pancake front cross member, Nate built me some arms for it and a center trailing arm support and a huge notch for the rear with the p/b hinges. I'll also install a big back window. The truck came with a new 350 crate motor and a turbo 400. I've been gathering parts for a week or so and have almost every thing I need to get it done... not...
